I met Geri Lynn about four years ago at a networking meeting. I immediately felt a real sense of jealousy (I'm not mean, just envious) she was so tall, athletic and beautiful. In my mind she had it all together. Geri Lynn practiced what she preached. A registered dietitian, mother and successful athlete she was a picture of perfect health and vitality. We lost touch for about a year and during that time, I heard through the grapevine that her brother was terminally ill and she was caring for him. After he passed, Geri Lynn had another challenge, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She spent the following year in Chemo, and Radiation Therapy,  lost all her hair and kept on working...yes, she didn't miss a beat! During that time, she was invited to experience Reiki, which was offered for free to the cancer patients. Geri Lynn knew the first time she had a treatment this was her calling. So while doing Chemo, Radiation Therapy, working and exercising she took classes in Reiki. Do you think she might be a type A personality? I saw Geri Lynn for the first time after her last chemo. She looked stunning! Still so beautiful and physically fit. Now you would think all this was coming to and end, but.. now she is diagnosed with a herniated lumbar disc and degenerative arthritis. That's how she ended up with me. She comes in twice a week and makes us all smile. I am so amazed at Geri Lynn's personal strength. She never complains, always cheery and ready to work. I am in awe of her ability to overcome adversity and turn it into opportunity. Not to mention, she is very gifted at Reiki.
